Cargill Expands Meat Processing Operations with Acquisition of Two Plants

TLDR:

  • Cargill acquires two meat processing plants previously owned by Infinity Meat Solutions, subsidiaries of Ahold Delhaize USA.
  • The acquisition is driven by the increasing demand for convenient and affordable protein options in the United States.

Cargill has bought two meat processing plants from Infinity Meat Solutions, a subsidiary of Ahold Delhaize USA. The goal is to meet the growing demand for affordable protein in the United States.

The purchased plants are located in North Kingstown, R.I., and Camp Hill, Penn.

The move is part of Cargill’s strategy to expand its production and distribution of supermarket-ready beef and pork, especially in the Northeast. The plants will still serve Ahold Delhaize USA and other retailers.

Hans Kabat, president of Cargill’s North American Protein business, is excited about the investment.

This expansion aims to simplify operations for retailers, allowing staff to focus more on customer service instead of prep work.

The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
